New York Times - online media kit

nyt_blog3

The New York Times needed to update its online media kit to become a more-dynamic place where media buyers would could not only get specs and rates, but also ideas on innovative new advertising formats and in-depth information about the Times’ unique audience.

Our challenge was to create a space where viewers could explore without becoming overwhelmed, while still providing easy access to hundreds of pages of specific content.

The Times client was particularly receptive and open to change.

This is the result.

VCom Solutions

BACKGROUND:

VCOM Solutions, a small but growing provider of telecommunication services, wanted to give their sales force some key tools to generate interest and boost their business. They asked us for three things: a PowerPoint presentation, a one-minute elevator pitch and a new tag line. The message was pretty simple: VCOM offers better service than their conglomerate competitors. We provided these tools, handily. But we thought there might be something else we could do to get VCOM noticed. Something, well… different.

THE EXECUTION:

Automatedphonehell.com is a Flash minisite celebrating the frustrations of dealing with a large, impersonal company on the phone, using no more than a visual of a telephone keypad and some pretty irritating VO. VCOM loves it. Their sales team has been sending it as a follow-up to sales calls and tracking clearly shows that the site is being passed around.
